My King Charles Pup just SWALLOWED a cotton bud!?

She's 5 months old, she was munching on it like she does EVERYTHING, and I was trying to get it out of her mouth for about 5 minutes, but she kept putting it further back in her mouth, eventually she started chokeing because it was in her throat and she swallowed it instantly! *sigh* what do I do? does she need a vet? is that the type of thing that can p through?
