Manhattan great views?

Am going to NYC in April, was wondering if I can go to the top of the rock or empire state building or any other building for tails and a view (prefer at night). Don't want to do a dinner, just drinks and maybe an appetizer, but somewhere with a great view of any NYC site, with good photo opportunities. THANKS!!
