How come my vector image gets pixelated when pasted into Photoshop?

I have a vector logo (about 10 separate shapes, 3 of them have gradients), and when I paste it in and hit accept (the check mark) it is still pixelated. What's the deal? Tried pasting it as all 4 options: path, smart object, pixels, and shape layer, none worked.
