In fallout 3 if charon dies can u get him again?

i am wondering if charon in fallout 3 dies am i able to get him back again i have dog meat and i've left him up at vault 101 because he was just in the way and didn't do much damage to the super mutants so i need a new follower preferably one that is easy to get
